Amendment to Ordinances
There were two sets of suggested amendments to the Company’s Ordinances. After a period to allow commentary, these amendments have been adopted into the Company Ordinances.
Submission 1 – John of the Hills, Master of the Pelican
I suggest that the heading of section “1 Aim” is changed to the more grammatically correct “1 Aims” as ther.e are already several aims listed in that section.
I suggest that in section “1. Aims” that a new aim is inserted so that the current 1.3 becomes 1.4.
1.3 The tertiary aim of the Company is to hold at least two competitions each SCA year in order to publicly promote the practise of woodwork in the Kingdom of Lochac.
Submission 2 – Marit the Wanderer, Mistress of the Pelican
May I suggest that 1.3 [from submission 1] read “at least one competition each SCA year”.
An additional submission of amendment has been added, suggested by myself and Master Hugh de Calais; to adopt the Lochac A&S competition judging criteria and submission formats in place of the jurying criteria suggested by the Company of Broiderers. The advantage is that the judging guidelines are better described. It also allows members to submit their company entries to Lochac A&S competitions without much change needed.
The disadvantage is that the scoring criteria needs to be analysed to determine what would represent Apprentice/Journeyman/Master levels. Indeed would we average the score across the criteria, weight some criteria better than others, or require a consensus of results across the criteria (i.e. Master in 4 criteria and Journeyman in one would only allow a ranking of Journeyman).
